Heard that Ryanair has got PSO for KIR DUB and that City Jet has NOC DUB
The question is will Ryanair operate a 737 on this route four times a day, or does the route only require a morning and evening flight. I'm not up to speed with the structure of how these PSO's work, but I take it only a certain percentage of the seats not filled are eligible for the subsidy.

The second question now is will Cityjet operate the NOC flight using one of their own machines or will they use one of VLM's Fokker 50's. Hard to justify using a four engine jet on a route that barely has more than 30 pax's per flight. Or am I mistaken in thinking that the subsidy's are actually a lot higher than I thought. I don't agree with subsidy's myself but to think taxpayers money is being burned away is criminal in my mind.

I did hear through the grapevine yesterday that Aer Arann were awarded the PSO LDY-DUB route, whether it's true or not I don't know.
