Anyway, I never once saw a Vulcan F700 entry that read ‘engines sound slightly ropey’. Nor, when standing underneath one on the pad with my fillings rattling, or running away from them on QRA, did I stop to ponder, ‘By Gum, that engine sounds slightly ropey’.
You may have heard an ‘unusual’ sound. Maybe the power settings weren’t symmetrical, but ‘slightly ropey’. Nooooooo. Mind you I don’t know what ‘slightly ropey’ means.
