Philip Meeson, 60, a former RAF pilot, runs his own airline. Jet2.com operates services from the north of England to 38 destinations. Passenger numbers have reached 3m and are forecast to rise to 4.3m over the next 12 months. The profits of its parent, Dart Group, hit £16.6m in 2006-07. Meeson’s stake is worth about £28m. Past salaries and dividends take the Dart chairman and chief executive to £40m.
