I glide at Weston on the Green and you would be surprised at the number of a/c that bore straight across the airfield. One last year got done in the local court for several hundred pounds. It boiled down to he was navigating on GPS and hadn`t looked at the map.
We ( the Gliding Club ) have a delicate but working arrangement with the parachutists and don`t want it spoiled.
The paras at Weston jump at any time of the day from up to 12,500 ft and there can be 12 of them falling free to 2 or 3,000 before opening their `chutes.
They operate up to 4 a/c at a time so you are not safe even if you have seen 12 land.
Read the map. Stay away.
