Here you go

Doctor,

I have a JPI installed and have successfully downloaded to a palm pilot, but not to a PC. You post doesn't say which you are using. I didn't have a supplied cable to go between the EDM and palm and had to make an adapter from two DB9 male plugs wired as follows.

Connect pin 2 to 3, 3 to 2 and 5 to 5

As far as the download procedure, it all went as described in the manual.
Enter program mode and tap the step button until the DUMP option was displayed.

Here's a cut and paste from the manual though you probably already have the same information ...

EzPalm Installation 2/17/2000
1.Install EzPalm software onto the IBM compatible PC. The following assumes that you have the Palm Pilot PC software installed in the folder named CPalm and you registered your Palm Pilot with the name ‘MyName’. Copy the file ‘EzPalm.prc to the folder CPalm\Add-on, then open your Palm Desktop application on the PC.
Click ‘Install’ (Select the user ‘MyName’ if needed.)
Click ‘Add’
Click ‘EzPalm’ and ‘Open’
Click ‘Done’
Click ‘OK’

2.Transfer and install EzPalm application on the Palm Pilot. Place the Palm Pilot in its HotSync cradle. Initiate the HotSync function between the PC and the Palm Pilot. The JPI EzPalm icon will then show up on the Palm Pilot applications screen.
3.Setup download from the EDM-700/800. Attach a serial cable between the Palm Pilot and the EDM data port. (A schematic for an adapter between the standard EDM data cable, and the Palm Pilot travel cable is given below.) Data is read at 19,200 Baud, so the EDM must be configured for ‘FAST?Y’; refer to the EDM Pilot’s Guide for instructions.
4.Download from the EDM. Set the EDM-700/800 to User Program Mode, and select ‘DUMP NEW’ or ‘DUMP ALL’. Then on the Palm Pilot, tap the EzPalm icon, tap the ‘Ez Capture’ window.
The Palm Pilot will now wait a few seconds for you:
Press the ‘Step’ button on the EDM to start the download. A short time after the EDM is done, the Palm Pilot will close the file (named with today’s date).
Tap ‘Exit’ to end the application, or tap ‘Explorer’ to see the various data files present and selectively delete old files to make room for new ones.

5.Transfer the data to the PC. Place the Palm Pilot in its PC cradle & initiate HotSync. Your new data file will be placed in the folder CPalm\MyName\Backup. Move this file to the folder containing the EzSAVEP.exe application.
6.De-compress data file into Excel compatible flight files. Open the EzSaveP application. From the Main Menu, select ‘De-Compress Palm Pilot Data. Select the file to decompress (use up/down arrow keys then press <ENTER>).
7.Use the optional JPI “Palm Pilot” (gray) download cable to the Palm serial cable (the Palm Pilot travel cable, although the hotsync cradle will work too.)

Sorry for the format, did not have a lot of time to muck around with it, got a wife, 3 kids and a dog ...
