SAS/flight operations

ppp
1) SAS will not get the buyer to pick up the tab on its debts do not think so.

Maybe Iberia is holding out for a lower price unless SAS has a new buyer hidden

I agree with ppp there is some reason SAS hasn't sold yet ?

As already stated Iberia is covering all bases.

Iberia is much more interested in Vuelclicking if it does not get Spanair.

The Vuelclking card could be a play in the Spanair negotiations.

You see another buyer for Spanair showing up, could happen if Iberia tries to lowball SAS too much

If Iberia gets Spanair and Vuelclicking.

It seems to me Iberia would cut Spanair into a very lean company.
Leaving Spanair the puente areo ?

What about the politics of the whole thing ?

WIth buying Spanair, Why would put Iberia put energy on resources on routes it has just given to CLickair ?

Vueling/Clickair has a lower overhead than Spanair.

Where would the focus be for Iberia ?

2) In regards to Flight Operations in the merger. Interested in discussing how flght ops will merge as it is an open forum

Vueling has finally got a decent training department, much improved for the LC budget given.

Vueling's OCC has improved a lot.

An older and more developed training department with company TRE's and TRI's following SOP'S with a real programme.

Also Vueling has a more developed safety department and culture.
Safety is important and you know one incident could shut down an airline.

The English airbus vueling sops will be simpler to implement in the merger
Vuelckling than Clickairs Iberia's manuals.

While at Clickair the pilots are treated with more respect. The pilots have a pilot in the top excutive Vueling does not. Clickair's growth has been impressive.

Vueling's pilots get hot meals and crew transportation to parking while Clickairs pilots do not.

Vueling existed before CLickair and the date of administrative seniority ( contract signing date ) will have to be respected otherwise there could be a legal fight over seniority. It will not be easy to find a solution to keep all sides happy, it never is.

It is a merger not a takeover, in an ideal world merging the best not the worst of both sides.

Hoping they get the best of both worlds and a smart new manager or flight operations will recognize this.

After much pain and progress ( after a primitive start ) I hope these decent training( sops ) and safety departments are not dismantled by Iberia-Nefinsa for political reasons. To go backwards will not be in anyones interest.
