There was an article on exactly this topic in last month's pilot. One of the regular contributors did a mini tour with his wife, tent and Piper Cub.
IIRC people were a bit taken aback by his request but nobody said no and indeed were really very helpful. They were mainly worried how he'd manage with very few facilities. He didn't have a stove - can't remember if that was a blanket ban on naked flames on the airfields or just because he couldn't legally fly with the fuel on board - so no cooking and hot water for tea and washing has to come from a thermos.
