Instead of building a stable work force in the long term they have decided to take the short term cheaper option of following the pilot market and going where they are cheapest.

The problem with this model is the lag in the system of recruiting and training. Get out of phase and the ramifications could hit EK hard.

In the meantime the message is given out that they will pursue the cheaper alternatives at the expense of losing the experienced pilots who built and continue to support EK so far. 'If you don't like it leave' may be the unwritten policy up until now but they should be careful what they wish for.

Losing experience in a rapidly expanding environment replacing it with much less experience will only led one way and it isn't up.
