I understand entirely what you mean JFZ90. I wasnt intending to simplistically say that it it's ALARP it's safe and I accept that was a possible conclusion that someone might have taken from what I said. As all will by now understand I hope,
all I am saying is that if it is tolerable but it isnt ALARP it isn't safe, as shown even more clearly than in the defence standards document in table 7.1 from this document from the MoD website:
