A little story :
After I passed my ATP written, a friend of mine asked me for advice as he needed to get the FAA ATP together with a type rating.
He decided to buy Gleim's CD instead of the book, and although a brilliant pilot, he failed. I offered him to lend my book and he passed with 94%.
He also took care to download the latest update from Gleim's website.
This to say that the book is perharps more user friendly, and you may find more occasions to read it than playing the CD.
I find it more confortable to read a book, be able to write down notes, than screening the screen of a computer (I reserve this for PPRuNE
