Bubair,
The day started with a 5 minute video on easyJet. Pay attention to it as they identify the key attributes to easyJet's work ethos. Then you are asked to introduce yourself to the others and the easyjet recruitment team.
Day one then consists of three stages: (a) a group exercise; (b) an ATPL-question paper; and (c) a group exercise.
(a) Group exercise - Bit difficult to explain, but it involved building a lego-type vehicle, and a structure which allows you to transport 'stuff' on the vehicle. It's testing your ability to work as part of a team. Make sure you say something, but don't try to lead the group. Some good advice on how to approach this type of group-exercise is to be found on the BA-the lowdown merged thread on PPRUNE.
(b) ATPL question paper - Learn the answers from the Cathay Pacific question book.
(c) The interview - It lasted approx. 50 minutes. HR lady and a pilot shared the questioning. First up was HR. Four questions testing the core competencies. Refer to the easyJet interview book (more like a pamphlet) for more info. Be prepared to go into detail with your answers, and have specific examples. The second part of the interview was conducted by the pilot. Questions included:
1. describe the hydraulics system on the Airbus. This led on to what happens/what would you do in the event of losing one system, two systems, three systems, and the deployment of the RAT. Also had to name which hydraulic systems governed which control surfaces;
2. describe the electrical system on the Airbus. Led on to questions re emer elec config.;
3. general ATPL-type questions, including defining V1, Vr, V2, what happens to V1 on a wet runway etc. Read "Ace the Tech Pilot Interview" book.
Finished day one by 12.30pm, but had to wait until almost 5pm for the results. If you pass, day two consists of a sim ride on a 737 (in my case, on a 737-300 as I'm not type-rated on 737). easyJet will send you the profile and flap/power settings in advance. Examiner asks you some maths questions whilst you're flying.
Overall, a friendly and relaxed day. Six out of ten passed day one when I attended the assessment. No idea how many got through the sim check.
Good luck.
