Does simulator instructor require class 1 med?

My understanding (UK CAA or whatever it is now!) is that the EXAMINER should hold the same rating, and be subject to at least the same operating standard, as the candidate. Hence full cat 1 medical, ATPL etc for TRE, but not for TRI.
