The Air C2ISR OEU are based at Waddo and do OT&E for E-3D, ASTOR, Nimrod R1, MR2, MRA4, UAVs and various ground C2 and TIW type stuff. They have personnel also based at Warton and Kinloss I believe.
I guess this follows the trend of the Typhoo and Fast Jet & Weapons OEUs being given the 17 and 41 Sqn designations respectively.
Some may suggest that it's the most operational thing 56 will have done for quite a while!!
