I have a question, if one holds a CAA/JAR ATPL, does one still have to do the full Aussie ATPL conversion, or do they offer concessions?

There are provisions to allow a direct entry Captain to remain as a Captain out of seniority for "normally not to exceed" 5 years....
Does this mean that, should you be accepted for D.E.C. tomorrow, in no more than 5 years time you can be down-graded to FO?
Lastly, if offered a job with Jet*, are the guys still going in on the 457 (?), and/or is this being revisited by the labour unions?
