Hmmm. So Tatts are unprofessional and a sign of risk-taking according to some experts here?
Bollocks.
There is nothing in our FAM excluding anyone with tatts providing they can be concealed from view (dress standards).
I know a couple of senior blokes at QF with tatts. Doesn't prevent them from holding their positions, and I'm sure has no effect on their ability to safely operate an aeroplane. They ride motorcycles too, so does that make them outlaw bikers? Give me a break!
Personally, I find tatts distasteful. However I respect an individual's choice and don't pass judgement (unlike
some contributors here).
As a recruiter, I couldn't care less if somebody turns up for a sim ride with a tatt, providing it can be covered in accordance with dress standards (if it is not for cultural reasons).
I'm more interested in the fact that he or she is good at poling the plane around and is trainable....
