I had the privilege of flying the first commuter run at Aeropelican in a Cessna 402 VH- MWE on June the 2nd 1971. The sector was APL/ SY/ APL and it was the start of a very successful commuter service. For performance reasons we limited the pax load to 7, the 402 did a great job and deserves its role in the Australian RPT system.
