British European did open an ABZLCY route at the time where it thought the future was LCY! The route launched thrice daily with a 146 but quickly dropped back in the end to a Dash 8 Q200, at which point you were looking at about a 2hr 15min block time.
The route died (and I stand to be corrected) but I think it was resurrected for a short time by Scot Airways D328's although they too pulled the route after a short period.
