Call me a cynical old git, but when a corporate spokesperson feel the need to nvoke the words "robust", "reliable" and "effective", I have this nagging feeling things are anything but robust, reliable and effective.

The last paragraph lends itself to interpretation, and people well versed in management yuckspeak will interpret that Boeing is in even deeper doo-doo than they have so far revealed.

2 year delay (i.e. service entry mid-2010 ) seems likely, if not optimistic. Have read of issues with the main-gear doors too, and also that the 747-8 program is in even more problems than the 787 (lack of engineering resources - "all" hands dedicated to the 787).

Add to that the possibilties of Boeing engineers going on strike, and things are starting to look less than rosy.
