Perhaps the evolution of the F22 Raptor that is being proposed might be the go. its been mooted that a lengthened 2 seat version of the Raptor with a significantly larger internal weapons bay could be built. As it is, block 40 Raptors are slated to superseed the F-15E.
There are some serious proposals to sell the Raptor to Japan as they are a trusted nation. Surely we aussies must have a higher level of trust by the Americans than Japan.
