larssnowpharter. Your wild guess might not be far off the mark as it could possibly be the Martinsyde F4 Buzzard.
The Martinsyde F4 Buzzard was developed as a powerful and fast biplane fighter for the Royal Air Force (RAF), but the end of the First World War led to the abandonment of large-scale production. Less than 400 were eventually produced, with many exported. Of particular note was the Buzzard's high speed, being one of the very fastest aircraft developed during WWI.
However, apart from some oversea sales I can find no record of the aircraft on the civilian register. Am I correct in thinking this was a fighter aircraft?
