Am I answering the question that you asked???

Operators normally want to meet training requirements/legislation/safety standards etc whilst watching cost.

When an OPC is passed, the validity period is "the remainder of the month of test plus 6 months".

An OPC passed in January therefore will be valid until 31st July.

A second OPC passed during the validity period of the first will be valid for the remainder of the month of test plus 6 months unless it is passed during the final three months of validity of the first OPC in which case the validity period of the second OPC commences at the expiry date if the first.

To minimise the number of OPCs that are needed per pilot each year, the checks are normally taken every 6 months.
However, if a pilot sits his OPC renewal before the last day of his crrent OPC's validity but not more than 90 days before, then there shall be no loss of validity period and 2 OPCs per year will surfice.

(Note, 90 days is subject to minor change because the 3 months prior to expiry might include Feb with only 28 days etc but the idea is clear I hope!)

Did this help??!!!

Regards
