Cathay awarded $4.8b cargo terminal contract

Cathay Pacific has been awarded a 4.8-billion-dollar contract to design, construct, and operate a new air cargo terminal at the Hong Kong International Airport. The agreement will last for 20 years, and was signed by the Airport Authority and a subsidiary of Cathay. The new terminal will be capable of handling 2.6 million tonnes of cargo a year. It is expected to be operational by the second half of 2011.
