Moonshine,
First of all you will really love it. The airport it self is situated right on the coast and everytime I flew in joins were done from a right hand upwind join, bit odd but easy to get your head around.
The flying club is right over the other side from the terminal and you need to follow a little hidden access road to get to it, once there GardAir is the little shack with a broken Warrior outside it, its a nice place with a bar and TV and everyone there is really friendly. The establishment is run by a guy called Derek Gardier, top bloke who is really quite funny, he will be the person doing your check out probably.
As for the fleet when I was there the 152 was in maintenance but I flew the 172, N20773. Its a very clean machine that was very nice to fly in, there was an Arrow there that is privately owned by a guy who flies Lobsters in from Tobago or somewhere for his restraint, although I think they do have a twin or two, but I didn't see them. An Albatross is around which is absolutely great and the nice Scottish guy who owns it is more than happy to show you around, the TIA pilots and BA/BWIA sometimes hang out there too.
The flying is great, takes about an hour to fly round the island, flying east you will get to east point and you will see the Crane, Sam Lords flying round the coast you will see famous surf spots (behind the mountains so radar can't see you) we went down to about 50ft. You may also see the Bajan helicopters that are situated in Bridge Town, we had some dogfighting fun with them too, top pilots who fly very safely indeed.
I never left the island when I was there, but apparently a normal Nav Ex will take you to the Grenadines which are a little group of islands. But almost all Islands are within range as their maintenance base is in Trinidad.
Regulations wise their scheme is a mix of the British, European, Canadian and American. They have taken bits from each I think, but I don't know for sure what the licensing is like, I think from what I gathered as its quite laid back, you would just hand in and take a check ride and get a stamp.
Overall an excellent place to fly, I will be back out there soon, I don't have the contact details, I lost them, I have an e-mail addy but there is no way you will geta reply before you go as it took about 3 months to reply to mine

, but I have sent you an e-mail that will resolve the problem.
Anymore info needed just ask,
Rusty.
