In the case of Flybe duplicating routes with Eastern and bmi they were offered the same cost cutting deal. Now we have all three Airlines paying exactly the same on exactly the same routes. How stupid?
In the case of GLA, Flybe are offering a vastly better schedule. And perhaps the management at CWL were hoping for bmi baby to have same response as Eastern?
Surely it was a gamble either way? Say no to Flybe, including risking potential future expansion onto new routes, and hope baby would expand, risking stagnation but keeping you're main airline happy. Or let Flybe expand and accept that reduction will happen elsewhere but hope the additions outweigh the reductions
Anyway CWL made their decision and will have to deal with the consequences now
