Yes it is true, I recently had an interview with them here in London where they were holding a job expo. I have Australian residency but others at the expo did not and the Jetstar representative said that for the right candidates they would sponsor them for a work visa which could take up to four months to organise. It would seem that in Oz there is perhaps not a shortage of pilots but a shortage of experienced pilots who are willing to work at Jetstar.
