Some guys get it and some don't, like you say it could be a smoothness factor. I didn't get the shaker but got a slight buffet, which I recovered from. About 75% of the guys in my group did get the shaker. Some got a bit of a buffet and some didn't get anything. The ones that got it seemed to have similar stories of getting a bit high then over correcting in the level off.
As for the two turns, I did them but the first turn didn't have the 60 degree bank. I did a continuous turn increasing the bank the other direction in increments 30, 45, 60.
I must have done something right since I've been with the company 9 months now.
