there are many commuters from OOL but you would have to speak to one of them about where they park because there is no staff car park for cabin crew there.
I know some people who live on the Gold Coast prefer to drive to BNE to fly to SYD as OOL only has about two QF flights to SYD per day and the rest are Jetstar. This may suit you if you are buying internet specials on them but staff travel on Jetstar works differently to QF and you'll find out about that in due course.
There are plenty of hotels and commuter flats in Mascot as well.
