I have a mate flying there and he likes it. All the money you make, you keep. Everything is paid for .. hotel accommodation, medicals, renewals, currency flights, Chinese taxes, uniforms, health insurance (provided by an Australian company based in Sydney). He spends about $400 USD a month for food and entertainment (food is dirt cheap in China) and saves about USD $1700 a month. By end of contract, he plans to have saved about $30,000 USD. When making comparisons with wages and conditions, take these things into consideration.

But note, it's a slow process to get your Chinese CPL/IR license so you'll need to have patience. And Chinese lifestyle is NOT for everyone .. no doubt there will be people who'd hate it .. and those who do, won't last long there. Ni Hao.
