<<Check the beeb!>>

I had a wry smile at that comment. Today we need to move furniture out of our house and the only available place is the garden, for a few hours. All day yesterday the BBC Internet forecast for my area (Wokingham) showed a bright sun symbol, meaning "Sunny". This morning it ahs changed to "sunny intervals". My wife and I just got in from the local shops and guess what? It's totally overcast and snowing!! Reminds me of the bloke who rang the Met Office to let them know he'd just shovelled six inches of "partly cloudy" off his drive.

During my incarceration at Heathrow at the time when we had real local forecasters one of them was a charming lady who went on to become one of the TV presenters. In those days, each morning, a handwritten signed forecast would arrive via the Lamson tube. One morning we read the forecast and then fell about... the lady had spelt her name wrong! It was about that time that my confidence in forecasts was dulled....
