I would recommend contacting Bristow and CHC in Nigeria and seeing what they say.
It's always better to get it from the horses’ mouth so to speak, make sure you don't spend more money than you need (they might sponsor you for the IR, one never knows) and find out what they are really looking for.
From my time in Nigeria I remember one Nigerian who being a qualified GP did not get through the Bristow cadet scheme (they thought he wasn't going to stick around I was told) but he went out got qualified and ended up working for Bristow (last I heard flying the Super Puma). He is a great guy as well ...maybe not when he used to beat me at squash.
