Thumbs up

It's a two holer westie so logic suggests that its going to have some get up and go- at least in the lower levels- in order to cater for the engine out case. Heaps of grunt to cater for this means heaps of grunt available for the remainder of the climb

I just hope they don't go the way of the A330 which when heavy is supposedly a slug almost as bad as the 744 when approaching top of climb. I'm not sure why this is- de-rated thrust management in the climb?- but I'll be broken hearted if Boeing do go down this alley.

Of course, full rating climb on the 744 burns less fuel than rating one but does result in higher EGT and thus 'harder' (figuratively speaking) on the engines. Therefore if we're concerned about saving fuel than getting to altitude more quickly is the way to go!
