Standby is done from the airport from a given time until you are either used for a trip or sent home without being used after 6 hours has elapsed. There is no allowance if you are not used. An available day is one where the company can give you a trip, but they must warn you for the trip before 2100 the previous day. If you are not used, you have an extra day off.
