Well you only have to look at the recent news to see that You never know when your time is up. . The man in question, god rest his soul, was only 43. I think it is a matter of how you see the job. If you live for the mess functions and a day out of uniform is a day wasted, then yes you probably would wither away after leaving.

I think you will find it is the ex RAF people on here who do all of the whining. Most of the serving are too busy to even care what is written on this site. At the end of the day it is not really that important.
