BTW, that CX B777 bound for VHHH was fully laden with fuel ...should a prang occur, folks living several miles down the runway end might have been incinerated in a huge fireball. Do not think that only the immediate airport environ is exposed; a stricken big jet can limp off only to plonk down somewhere else onto densely populated areas. In the A320 Habsheim disaster, there wasn't that much fuel and thankfully the undercarriage scraping through the trees brought it down earlier into the forest. The fireball was large!
