Let's face it, there's no 100% security against suicidal terrorism - and never will be. As has already been mentioned, the most effective security on board a/c post 11/SEP is now the pax themselves. Other than the usual screening of baggage, pax and crews (ground & air) for weapons, explosives, etc., it's time for the U.S. to get back to normal. It should be drummed into the public's mind that, despite all the horrors witnessed, air travel is still safer than a drive to their local shops.
