Yes the Chevin gives us a displaced threshold on runway 14 due to the angle of the approach needed to clear it and an undershoot area for a possible land short situation (BA777 type incident) and as the runway was built to the new standards 32 also has a displaced threshold for the same undershoot reason. I think Bristol has thresholds almost at the ends of its runways like Newcastle and Durham Tees-Valley so no lost landing distance but only small undershoot areas as they were built under the old legislation. Also the fact the Chevin is higher than the airfielld and within the axis of the runway affects take off performance on most of the aircraft that use 32 for departure. Also for Hooded My A300 has Cat2 with 100ft Vert Vis decision height and 300m Rvr although we are hoping for Cat 3A 50ft and 200m rvr this year and Lba would present no problem for us as we are normally quite light.
I also worry about heavy aircraft and runway 14 landings !
