Ok I’m bored now.
Just to stop all the speculation and petty squabbling, I’ll tell you exactly what happened.
Incident called at approx 0930. Assets deployed and all headed for the rig. Rescue 137 given the task of OSC and co-ordinated a jigsaw cab, coastguard S-92, rescue 138, 6 civvie cabs and a friend from Norway. Eventually R137 handed over OSC to an E-3 approx 20 mins before the military assets were stood down. The nimrod got airborne only to be turned round almost immediately.
Everyone involved needs a pat on the back.
