That was in the Masterplan before LBA was sold. I feel the extension at the start of 32 would bring huge benefits especially if combined with the building of a parallel taxyway running from Delta to the new end of 14/Start of 32. I cringe everytime something heavy lands 14 as the LDA is so short and there is no safe overrun unlike 32. (Remember the L1011)
Shaheen would be the first airline in a while that this sort of work would really benefit, but if the new owners are serious about attracting long haul then this should be given priority. EK from Dubai or Jet2 to the US East coast would be more of an option with a small extension. Shaheen would probably be able to go direct in all but very hot nil wind days with a full load.
Come on Bridgepoint have a look at the runway not just the terminal.
