When Reg Ansett was trying to get his airline off the ground (so to speak) no one was permitted to run a transport service in opposition to the railways. He got around the problem by taking out a green grocers licence and sold oranges. For each orange you got a free trip to the capital city - oranges were a might expensive tho. More than one way to skin a cat.
