Hi guys. My personal opinion is that saying 'thanks' to the cabin crew over the P.A. really is a bit cringeworthy & does sound a little bit unproffessional! It's almost as if you're trying to 'justify' something & I think it says more about the person saying the thankyou than the crew they're actually thanking..? Just a thought...
