When new European EU-OPS regulations come into force on July 16, it is anticipated that Douglas DC-3 public transport pleasure flights will become a thing of the past. EU-OPS requires all aircraft operated on Commercial Air Transport flights, regardless of age or historic value, to comply with requirements including lockable flightdeck doors and escape slides.
So why should that stop the "Dak". It shouldn't be a problem putting a bolt on the cockpit door and as for a slide one could safely jump from the cabin door to the ground.
