If you join an airline, any airline, on a temporary seasonal contract, then the contract is precisely as described: People may hint at other things, or even directly assert them, but the fact is that you are on a temporary seasonal or fixed-term contract. If you choose to believe otherwise, and/or make any kind of plans based on hearsay then you have only yourself to blame. There can be no blame attached to any company for simply enforcing the terms of a contract.
The fact is that the market changes from week to week; That is the nature of the industry. What may have looked possible in May can be impossible by October. Experienced and intelligent Crew should know better than to make any kind of comment about the possibility of permanency for others: Those on temporary seasonal contracts need to exercise the same judgement.
It is unfair to single out Monarch for special criticism simply because some temporary seasonal or fixed term contract crew have not got their way and are now throwing their toys out of the cot.
