Perfectly understand the T's & C's as I have a friend who flies as a 777 Captain for Emirates on their original T's & C's.
It was he that pointed out the slow degradation of the original T's & C's. He also pointed out a few flaws with the rostering stability. Whether that has been sorted out I don't know.
The basic boils down to 'do you want to live in the desert 24/7'? Many people (my better half included) don't want to. The other factor is kids schooling, I understand Emirates will fund boarding school but, again personally, that isn't for me.
Horses for courses really. Probably a very good job for non-resident single tax exiles.
