Canada Aviation Museum - Ottawa

Spent a lovely day last summer at this museum, just on the outskirts of Ottawa. One of the most interesting aircraft museums I have been to, since it was very well focussed - purely on aircraft that had some relevance to the history of Canada, either in terms of being built there, or of seeing significant service there.

Quite a few unique specimens - including what little remains of the Avro Arrow:

Apologies for the shortage of photos, I had a new camera at the time, and I hadn't worked out that it wasn't saving photos properly

The hidden secret is the "other hangar" - the museum complex has two enormous buildings, one is the museum itself, the other is the "odds and sods" collection, that an organised tour takes you around. In there, there is a DC9 (AC had loads), a Comet 1 nosecone (guide couldn't explain how they had acquired that one!) and all sorts of great Canadian kit. Too many to list, and in fact even the website doesn't list them for some reason, although they do show up in the Image Bank.

Well worth a trip!
