Incorrect. It does count towards flight time. Climb and descent does not count towards
flight deck duty time which is a completely separate kettle of fish and is essentially irrelevant in four crew ops anyway. It would perhaps play a part in a three pilot ops flight but only at the extremes of flight times....about 12 hours.
