Warsaw update

Latest rumour is that EI are reconsidering ORK-WAW in the light of Centralwings decision. CAA need to keep talking to customers particularly overseas airlines for whom Cork Airport is only a dot on the map.

Cork is a 24 hour airport. This was brought in 1999 because of an astronomical overtime bill due to old agreements negotiated as far back as the 1970's. However Centralwings and Wizz ran into constant hassle whenever they tried to operate after midnight. What's the point in 24hr opening if you can't cater for night operations. Imagine Tesco hassling customers who want to shop at their 24hr stores after midnight.

I'd imagine that there will be a replacement found for WAW and WRO or possibly new routes to Poznan or Lodz which will cater for the general catchment areas. WIZZ and possibly Ryanair would be the obvious candidates for the latter two routes.
