It is indeed the Seversky P35A. I had to crop this picture mercilessly to get rid of the rudder pedals with the very clear word Seversky on them. This lighty armed and somewhat underpowered aircraft, more or less contemporary with the Hurricane, was the progenitor of the Republic P47. The company name was changed when the Board of Directors forced the Russian born Alexander Seversky out following poor sales of this type despite his best efforts. Fuel leaks were also a major problem as integral non self-sealing fuel tanks were incorporated.
