This was the return of P2-ISJ from Wamuna (NW of Madang). All went well until it got to the gap just NE of Goroka, and it started to swing. Army pilot jettisoned it
If that photo was taken in 1979, it couldn't have possibly been an Army pilot on the poles - RAAF owned the chookies back then! Maybe that's why they had all their helicopters confiscated and given to the Army?
