"Why would Ryanair choose an airport, with the highest % of diverted flights from any UK airport, due to weather."
So why would'nt they? They chose Bristol which has an equally similar bad weather record, with a high, short and undulating runway problem. If Ryan Air want to increase their passenger carrying numbers then they will look at the bigger picture and fly from anywhere if the deal is right for them. After all it's not bad weather everyday at Bristol or Leeds or any airport. No where's perfect all the time in this part of NW Europe.
So just to add to the case, I believe that LBA is in with a chance of seeing an increased Ryan Air presence, probably sooner than some people think.
