Sorry Threeputt, Orge is right we did recieve a 12% pay rise just after GW1 to recognise our operational efforts of the past year!! Good for me too since I was promoted that year as well when promotion meant a decent pay rise not like in these post "Pay2000 days!"
That said, I believe you're right about the 35% pay rise in the late seventies to bring military pay back in line with our civilian counterparts, only I can't remember it as I was still at school
